As we dream about the kind of church we would love to have, we've thought a lot about how to represent The Lord well. Christians have become so loud about what they are against, it seems that's all we're known for. We believe that there needs to be a change in how we talk, how we treat one another, how we do church, and how we see those who do not know Jesus.
With that in mind, we want to be a church that...
...is known more for what she is for than what she is against.
...helps to bring healing to people who have been hurt by people inside or outside the church.
...shows extravagant kindness, love and grace to people, as it's the "kindness of God that leads to repentance." (Romans 2:4)
...is more concerned with helping people to meet Jesus than worried about judging their sins before they've even had a chance to get to know Him.
...that walks with people through the tough issues of life, in community and in genuine relationship, in a way that seeks to understand and listen first.
...the un-churched, the de-churched, and anyone in-between, feel they have a safe haven, are listened to, and lovingly cared for, regardless of whether we have differing opinions or not.
