Visiting a new church can feel intimidating. Whether you’ve been part of church your whole life, never been to church, haven’t been in years, or have been hurt by church in the past — it’s normal to have questions. Here are some things people often wonder before walking through the doors.
Will I fit in?
We hope so — truly. You don’t have to dress a certain way, know certain words, or have your life together. Come as you are. We’re building a church where people from all walks of life can belong.
What if I have doubts or questions?
Questions are welcome here. You won’t be shamed for wrestling with faith. We believe honest questions can lead to deeper, healthier faith — and you don’t have to pretend to have it all figured out. And, doubts, as we work through them can bring us to a robust faith in Jesus. We’re here to work through your doubts, your questions, with you.
Is this church safe?
We take safety seriously — emotionally, spiritually, and physically. We are committed to:
We don’t believe in covering things up or protecting image over people.
What about my kids?
Your children’s safety matters deeply to us. All volunteers are background checked, and we are intentional about creating a secure, welcoming, and fun environment for every child.
And if your baby cries? You are not bothering anyone. We’re just glad you’re here.
What do you believe?
We are centered on Jesus — His life, His teachings, His compassion, His salvation, and His grace. We believe church should reflect His heart: humility, justice, mercy, and love. If you’re curious about our specific beliefs, you can read more here.
Will I be pressured?
No. You won’t be pressured to give, sign up, or commit to anything. We want you to move at your own pace. If you simply want to observe and get a feel for things, that’s completely okay!
What if I’ve been hurt by church before?
We’re so sorry.
Many of us understand church hurt personally. Restore exists, in part, because we believe church can and should be healthier. If you’re cautious, that makes sense. You don’t have to rush trust here.
What if I’ve never been hurt by the Church?
That's great! Church is made up of people from different walks of life, who have had different experiences, and we all come to learn about Jesus. Our heart is to respect diversity, seeking to understand before we are understood, and discovering, together, what living for Jesus in our culture, in our context, looks like.
What’s different about Restore?
We are intentionally trauma-informed, deeply committed to kindness, and serious about accountability. We don’t just want to talk about Jesus — we want our culture and leadership to reflect Him.
We won’t be perfect. But we are committed to humility, transparency, and doing church in a healthier way.
If you still have questions, we’d genuinely love to hear from you.
